TR: This is Robert Siegel.

SS: This is Lakshmi Singh.

FN: This is Ann Taylor.

GK: You know their voices from public radio but do you know who they are as people? Human beings with needs ----frustrated desires----you'll find out on "THROUGH THE GLASS WINDOW' later tonight on many of these stations.

SS: Stop staring at me, Mr. Siegel. It gives me the creeps.

TR: I care about you, Lakshmi. Don't you know that?

SS: Well, care about someone else.

FN: Care about me, Bob.

TR: Stay out of this, Ann. Lakshmi -how can I say this?

When I hear you say "This is Lakshmi Singh" it makes my heart twist and turn, my throat gets dry.

FN: You're crazy, Siegel, or my name isn't Ann Taylor.

TR (IRA): Broadcasters: needy neurotic, forced to live in a fishbowl, starved for physical contact, for emotional fulfilment. I'm Ira Glass. I'm there. I see it every day. Leave her alone, Siegel. She's mine.

TR (SIEGEL): Put that stapler down, Glass. Lakshmi is mine. She's mine.

TR (GLASS): It's not a stapler, Siegel. It's a gun. A stapling gun. I'm gonna nail you to the wall.

FN: This is Ann Taylor and I think everybody ought to just settle down. Take a deep breath.

TR (GLASS): You people know nothing about American life---- you're strangers to it. Lakshmi, come ---- let me show you America.

SS: Ira, I'm sorry but my heart belongs to another. This man. Here.

TR (GLASS): This old guy from Minnesota?? You're kidding. He's not hip. He's retiring.

SS: He is the one for Lakshmi Singh.

TR (SIEGEL): But he's old and he doesn't tell the truth.

FN: Listen to your heart, Lakshmi. Follow your dream. No matter where it leads.
