GK: Brought to you by P.O.E.M. the Professional Organization of English Majors.

TR: So how'd you like the movie?

SS: I loved it.

TR: Johnny Depp is really something, isn't he.

SS: Did you read "Through The Looking Glass" as a kid?

TR: No, I just watched it with you.

SS: No, I mean the book.

TR: The what?

SS: The book. By Lewis Carroll.

TR: Oh is that who wrote the movie?

SS: You've got to be kidding me.

TR: I didn't know much about the movie. I just saw the trailer

and Johnny Depp and thought "Sold!" He was so good in

Sleepy Hollow.

SS: Based on a book.

TR: And Chocolat.

SS: Based on a book.

TR: And of course Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

SS: Based on a book.

TR: I thought that was based on an older movie.

SS: Which was based on a book. Do you read books?

TR: Sometimes.

SS: What do you read?

TR: I donno. Whatever I like. History. That sort of thing.

SS: "That sort of thing"??? History is a "sort of thing"?

TR: What's the problem?

SS: Do you ever read poetry?

TR: In school we did.

SS: In college?

TR: High school.

SS: Emily Dickinson?

TR: What did she write?

SS: You've never read Emily Dickinson?

TR: Is that going to be a problem?

SS: How have you never read Emily Dickinson?

TR: Pretty easily, actually.

SS: Well you are missing out.

TR: I guess I'll just have to live with that. What you want to do?

Get something to eat?

SS: I'm going home. Thanks for the evening.

TR: What's wrong?

SS: How did I ever meet you?

TR: I'm a friend of your cousin. Remember? Your cousin Betty.

SS: Wow. I've got to talk to her.

TR: I don't understand.

SS: You are so right.

TR: What are you saying?

SS: The Soul selects her own Society --

Then -- shuts the Door --

To her divine Majority --

Present no more --

TR: What's that supposed to mean?

SS: It means, hit the road, Jack.

TR: What did I do?

SS: It's what you didn't do is the problem.
