A reasonably pleasant state on America's other border, Minnesota offers an interesting variety of weather conditions. It's quiet,especially at this time of year. (QUIET WIND, DISTANT OWL). In northern Minnesota, you can buy a 3-bedroom house for less than you'd pay for a garage in San Diego. The people are courteous.
