FN: How long was your commute?

TR: Five hours; two and a half each way.

FN: Oh my gawd.

TR: It wasn't so bad. Slept on the train on the way in, drank on the train on the way out.

-----------------------------------------------------

GK: It's all about the deep breathing. I thought it was the meditating, but it's not. It's all the breathing.

SS: Really?

GK: Totally. But you have to do it right, from the diaphragm. Like, deep deep. And in through the nose, not the mouth. Otherwise it doesn't work.

SS: Oooooh. I see. That's really interesting.

GK: Yea.

-------------------------------------------------------

KB: It's called Fashion Avenue.

TR: I thought it was Seventh?

KB: Well it is, but it's also Fashion Avenue.

TR: Like, colloquially?

KB: No. It's called that.

TR: But you said it was Seventh.

KB: It's both.

TR: Whatever.

-----------------------------------------------------

SS: I cannot take his negative attitude anymore. It's crushing me.

KB: Are you going to break up with him?

SS: No.

KB: What are you going to do?

SS: I don't know. Can I just not listen?

KB: I guess. I don't see why not.

-------------------------------------------------------

TR: I can only take a couple hits a day now. I used to be able to do so much more, but now it messes me up... Not in the good way.

FN: We're getting old.

TR: Totally. It sucks.

--------------------------------------------

TR: I knew her so well, you know? Like, I knew her body language and everything.

SS: That's amazing.

TR: She didn't even have to say anything, I just knew.

SS: It's heartbreaking.

TR: What am i going to do?

SS: You'll find someone new, don't worry.

TR: But what if she was the one? I'm serious, it was like I could read her mind.

SS: Don't think like that. It'll be okay.

TR: I don't know... I don't know.

----------------------------------------------------

GK: She has amazing legs.

TR: Oh yea?

GK: They're so long. I love her legs.

TR: Dude, chill out.

GK: What? I do.

TR: Okay but you don't have to talk about it.

GK: Well I want to.

TR: Just... OK.

GK: What?

TR: Nothing.

GK: Fine, I'll stop. Sorry.

----------------------------------------------------------

KB: The dark chocolate is the best from that place.

SS: I don't like dark chocolate.

KB: Shut up.

SS: What? I don't. It's bitter.

KB: You've just never had good dark chocolate. You'd like good dark chocolate.

SS: I don't think so. I really don't like it.

KB: How are we friends?

--------------------------------------------------

FN: I just have to let go of wanting people to be happy and do what I need to do, even though maybe people aren't going to like me.

---------------------------------------------------

KB (ON PHONE): It was just weird....I knew him for 5 minutes and he like, wouldn't stop kissing me.... It certainly does not turn me on... He's like an artist who's like, on the move... He was like, la la la, this is my girl... It's driven by something that just isn't... I mean, I had dinner with him and it was like, totally bizarre. Weird gut feeling, I'm not so sure I want to continue..."

---------------------------------------------------

GK: So have you applied at Collegiate?

SS: No, not until February.

GK: Harper had her interview at Brearley.

SS: She had her interview already?

GK: There are different submission dates. She wrote her essay about skiing. Which is good, because she's in ski team. It was a pretty good essay.

SS: Did you help her with it?

GK: Of course.

SS: Eliot didn't want help. He wrote about game design.

GK: At Brearley I hear they're looking for kids who are outgoing so we've encouraged that. We've done things with Harper that helped her be more fun and interesting.

SS: At Collegiate it's all about grades. They don't care if you went to Guatemala and worked in an orphanage.

GK: Well, I'd be shocked if he didn't get in.

SS: Yeah, he's really good at speaking to adults. Because we've always treated him like an adult. Even when he was little.

GK: Well, that's to his advantage now.

-----------------------------------------------------------

FN: Is 7x8 54?

SS: Uh, no.

FN: What is it?

SS: Seriously?

FN: Yea..

SS: 56.

FN: Ohhh. So close.
