GIVE ME JUST A LITTLE MORE TIME- APRIL 12

I've been working this crossword puzzle

And trying to think of a noun

That means a place where you keep a face

Which is 27 down.

And there's 11 across, which is "the boss

Of a syndicate for crime."

I used to solve it in an hour and a half

But now I need a little more time.

O give me just a little more time,

Give me just a little more time.

I used to be swift but I lost the gift

After I turned sixty-nine.

I'm that driver going 45

With the line of cars behind.

I'm doing the best I can

I just need a little more time.

It's been a long winter and here it's spring

With joys to be revealed

It's April 12th and I sit by myself

My heart is almost healed.

And the sidewalks clear and the lawns appear

And the honeysuckle vine,

In the fresh spring air, I say a little prayer:

Please give me just a little more time.

CHO:

O give me just a little more time

Give me just a little more time

I've had my time and I'd like a little more

To enjoy the sweet sunshine.

I've got a lot of things I want to do

Before I leave this world behind.

I'm ready when you call me, Lord,

But give me just a little more time.

I try not to look back at my life

And regret the turns I took.

That dreadful show about two years ago,

And why did I write that book.

I don't have big ambitions

For another mountain to climb

I just ask the Lord, let me stay on board

And give me just a little more time.

CHO:

O give me just a little more time

Lord, if your grace allow

I've just figured out what life's about

What a shame to leave it now.

Please don't hurry my obituary,

Just when I'm hitting my prime.

I thank you for a very good life

But give me just a little more time.

The latest report on climate change

Is enough to chill the soul

The earth's in crisis as the ice is

Melting at the North Pole.

Heat and drought, species die out,

In accelerating decline.

Forgive us, Lord, what we've done to your world

And give us just a little more time.

CHO:

O give us just a little more time

Give us just a little more time

For our kids' and grandkids' sake

And all of humankind.

We are only human, Lord,

And we need to be divine.

Forgive us what we've done to the world

And give us just a little more time.
