GK: It is spring. Spring arrived Thursday around noon, the vernal equinox.

The flowers that bloom in the spring,

Tra la,

What a beautiful beautiful gift -

As we merrily merrily sing,

Tra la,

And dance around in a ring,

Tra la,

Barefoot in the snowdrift,

Oh barefoot in the snowdrift.

I'm sure that a week or a few days will bring

Blue skies or something encouraging.

Tra la la la la,

Tra la la la la,

And that's why we're tra-la-la ing.

ALL:

Tra la la la la,

Tra la la la la,

Tra la la la la la!

GK:

There is still snow on the ground

Tra la,

And yet we do not see it there.

As we sing and we dance all around

Tra la

And make us a beautiful sound

Tra la,

And banish worry and care.

And banish worry and care.

And saying it's so will banish the snow

The power of positive thinking, you know.

Tra la la la la,

Tra la la la la,

And we are all twenty years old.

ALL:

Tra la la la la,

Tra la la la la,

Tra la la la la la!

GK: It's spring. The loons are mating. (LOON) The mourning doves (SFX). The wild turkey (SFX). The bald eagles are mating. They're monogamous and mate for life, like some of you, and to get themselves excited they fly high in the air (SS, TR EAGLE CRIES, FN WINGS) and they do cartwheels and they lock talons (SFX) and they fall toward the ground (CRIES) breaking away at the last moment (FLURRY OF WINGS). The male prairie chickens are courting the females by leaping (SFX), flapping (SFX), strutting (SFX), drumming their feet (SFX), and making a low booming vocalization (SFX) to attract females. (SFX)

STRAVINSKY LE SACRE

The wolves are mating, the alpha male and the alpha female. They are playful and affectionate with each other (SFX), touching noses, sleeping next to each other, talking (WHINING), sniffing (SFX), and if she's not interested yet, she runs him off (SFX), and then a little later she is. (SFX) How often has something like this happened to you?

HT/GK:

April, and mate they will

Two wolves go off to be alone.

They will find their way

Guided by their strong hormones.

GK: Spring calves are born. (COW IN LABOR) Songbirds return (SFX). So do spiders. (SCREAM) Ice goes out on the river (SFX) and the Canada geese land on the open water (SFX). The rabbits are mating and male rabbits battle each other at night. (RABBITS BOXING). We're more active too. Our bodies produce more serotonin which means more energy ---- (GOLF SWING), more physical activity(TENNIS VOLLEY), more restlessness (CAR ACCEL THROUGH GEARS), more interest in sex (OHHH OHHHH OHHHH).

STRAVINSKY LE SACRE

Time to take the car in to the carwash. (SFX) Time to refill the windshield washer fluid (POURING) in your car. Time to get your fish house off the lake. (SINKING, BUBBLES) --- Oh oh. Too late. Never mind. Time to put out the patio furniture and (CRANKING) open up the umbrella over the table....and then your true love walks up and.....

SS: Notice anything different about me?

GK: The question that strikes fear into the heart of a man. You don't want to say, Oh you're had your hair done, if the correct answer is, she's had a facelift ----

SS: Notice anything different?

GK: You're wearing a green caftan and you've decided to become a blond.

SS: Do you like it?

GK: What are my choices?

SS: You don't like it.

GK: I love it.

SS: Really?

GK: It's perfect. It's you.

Anyway hockey is all over now so your kids don't need to go to 6 a.m. practice at the indoor rink and your daughter who hated being the goalie now is in the spring musical at the high school, playing Marian the Librarian.

SS (SINGS FLAT):

Goodnight, my someone,

Goodnight, my love,

Sleep tight, my someone,

Sleep tight, my love,

Our star is shining it's brightest light

For goodnight, my love, for goodnight.

GK: And you want to encourage her, but not too much.

Time for spring cleaning. (VACUUM) Throw out the flotsam and jetsam (JUNKPILE). Smell the earth. (INHALE) Feel the beauty. (TENOR NOTE) Join that dance troupe you've been meaning to join, the people in the flowing clothes moving in a liquidy way-----(NEW AGE PIANO) (SS TEACHER: We are grasses, bending toward the sea. We are birds in the branches of a tree. We are flowers reaching for the sun. And also grass. And now we are birds again. Reach high from within yourself. Feel the chakras bending. And turn on our little bird feet.)

GK: Spring. A time for dance.

It's a world of beautiful things

Tra la,

And today is a beautiful day

And I've got the world on a string

Tra la

And buffalo fly on their wings

Tra la,

And spring is a few days away.

And spring is a few days away.

And it will be spring and the church bells will ring

And there is the end of all suffering."

Tra la la la la,

Tra la la la la,

"And that is the beauty of spring."

ALL:

Tra la la la la,

Tra la la la la,

Tra la la la la la!
