GK: You drive over to Broadway and north on Harbor Drive, pass the ferries to Coronado (SFX, BOAT HORN, "ALL ABOARD"), past the cruise ships at the dock coming back from Acapulco (BIGGER SHIP HORN), past the ships at the Maritime Museum (ANCIENT HORN, BELLS) and Shelter Island and the fleet of the sport fishers (SMALL BOAT HORNS) and over to the Old Point Loma Lighthouse (BELLS), where you can get out of the car and observe gray whales migrating south to Mexico (SFX, WHALE SONG) and some dolphins (SFX) and birds (SFX) and observe the bird-watchers (FN LADY: OOH...WOW, LOOK AT THE CURVATURE ON THAT BEAK) and next to the pier, you see the surfers (FN: "DUDE, GREAT SWELL.....AWESOME. WAVES

Head over to West Mission Bay Drive, and Sea World, the dolphins doing back flips (SFX) the dancing sea lion (SFX) the Beluga whale performing a Christmas carol (SFX), and over to Pacific Beach, where people on skateboards (SFX), the beach cruiser bicycles (SFX), the joggers (SFX), the rollerblading naked man covered in green paint on silver roller-skates, carrying a boom box (FN SINGING: I'M HAVING THE TIME OF MY LIFE). You go to Balboa Park, past the Shakespeare festival (SHAWM, SACKBUT),...

GK: ...and the San Diego Zoo and it's primates (SFX), and The Spreckels Organ Pavilion, with the world's largest outdoor pipe organ (SFX).

You head back to Northpark for some handmade sausages (CHEWING, MOUTH FULL), with some home brew (GLUGGING) with a side salad of avocados and tangerine. And strawberries, picked fresh this morning though it is the dead of winter. But there is no dead of winter: it's San Diego, it's the life of winter.
