GK: This was a big month for subatomic particle physics, with the discovery of the so-called "God particle," the Higgs boson, the particle that explains the existence of all matter in the universe. Very exciting to the subatomic particle physicists, to make the front page of the New York Times, and here is Dr. Erich Ullrich from the California Institute for particle physics to explain the significance of the discovery to us.
