GK: ... after a word from the Ketchup advisory board.
TR: These are the good years for Barb and me. She's been a little stuffed up and she went to the doctor for a nasaloscopy and it turned out that she had a couple nickels in her nostril, and that was it.
A big load off our minds. We were in the mood for outdoor adventure so we went to the Omnitheater and saw a film about Seattle. There was one sequence about climbing Mount Rainier that was so realistic --- when the camera went over the edge of the cliff, Barb practically dislocated my left arm. It was an interesting movie, all about Seattle, and theater and nature and so forth. And the weather casino there ---- you can bet on whether it'll rain in the next three hours and win a trip to Mexico.
SS: Oh I just loved looking at Seattle, Jim. It's so relaxing.
TR: Seattle?
SS: The movie said they have up to 300 overcast days every year. I love that. Southern California ---- you feel like you're getting the third degree. Blazing sun. Have to wear sunglasses and smear yourself with sunscreen that makes you smell like a kumquat. I love the clouds and mist and gloom of the Northwest ---- it just feels comforting. Like a hospice. I got so mellow during that scene where the raindrops were hitting the windshield, I could just feel the tension leaving my shoulderblades and the base of my spine.
TR: Barb ---- that billionaire who spent $20 million on the rocket ship ---- he was from Seattle. To me, that suggests they've got problems there. With transportation, if nothing else.
SS: But Mount Rainer.
TR: It's pronounced Mount Ren-yay, Barb. Ren-yay. Overlooking the Puzhay Sound. ---- We don't need Seattle for relaxation, Barb. We have catchup. Catchup is full of natural mellowing agents that help a person to accept where you are and with whom.
SS: What?
TR: Let's go open up a can of clams and pour some catchup on them and get out a Nirvana CD and sit in the shower and see what it does for us.
RD (SINGS): These are the good years, out on the rainy coast
Life is abundant, for many if not most
Life is flowing, like ketchup on French Toast
GK: Ketchup, for the good times
RD (SINGS) Ketchup, ketchup, ketchup
