GK: This portion of our show is brought to you by the Catchup Advisory Board--
TR: These are the good years for Barb and me. Spring is here and lawn care is easy now that we took out the grass and replaced it with gravel. The return of Daylight Savings Time means that once again our digital clocks will be correct. We should have been happy. And then Barb came down from the attic in tears, holding an armful of spiral notebooks. Barb, what's wrong?
SS: Oh, Jim. I was cleaning out the attic and I found my old journals from college. I haven't looked at them in years. Listen -- "Dear Diary, As I gaze at the blue skies of spring I am struck with the passionate realization of my youth, more than anything I want to feel the love of this earth, the only success I desire is the largeness of my soul----" "Bob and I went for a walk along the river. I am so thrilled. I want to reach up into the trees and be part of the sky."
TR: Who's Bob?
SS: He was my boyfriend.
TR: Sounds like he had quite an effect on you.
SS: "I want to touch and be touched by the world's soul. I want to make a life with Bob, I want to create beautiful things, I want to think thoughts greater than myself--"
TR: Who was he anyway?
SS: Oh, Jim. How did I become the tedious drudge I've become instead of the poet I wanted to be?
TR: Guess you picked the wrong guy.
SS: Oh, Jim.
TR: Barb, are you disappointed that you married me and had kids?
SS: Well, of course - a little.
TR: Barb, we all had dreams in our youth that didn't come true. Look at me. By this point in my life, I was planning to be an international rock and roll star with a big head of hair that I didn't have to glue.
SS: Are you disappointed?
TR: No. Thanks to Catchup, Barb, I get the natural mellowing agents I need. What do you say let's go have some Catchup right now and you can tell me more about Bob-----
RD (SINGS): These are the good times, the world is getting greener,
Spring all around us to brighten our demeanor,
Life is flowing like Catchup on a wiener.
GK: Catchup--for the good times.
