We're kicking off our summer rebroadcasts with a show originally from September 2013 at The Fitzgerald Theater in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Väsen demonstrate proper nyckelharpa technique on "Kludd'n." Chic Gamine bring the big harmonies on "Motions." Chris Thile shows off his classical chops on a few violin sonatas and partitas - yes, you read that right, it's Bach on the mandolin - and joins the boys from Sweden on "Flippen." Plus, Guy Noir tracks down a counterfeiter named Louie LeVahn; a word from Bebopareebop Rhubarb Pie; and in Lake Wobegon, the high school students take the ACT exam.

This week: Chris Thile returns to the Fitzgerald Theater for his second turn as our guest host, with special guests, bluegrass all-stars Jerry Douglas and The Earls of Leicester; singer, violinist, and banjoist Rhiannon Giddens; and storyteller Elna Baker. Plus, a little support from our Royal Academy of Radio Actors, Sue Scott, Tim Russell, and Fred Newman, and music director and pianist Richard Dworsky. It's been four years since our stalwart host took any sort of break from his radio duties, and this week he'll finally get the chance to listen to his own show live, as Chris Thile steps to the centerstage mic at the Fitzgerald Theater in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He'll have a little help from his string-quintet comrades Punch Brothers, poet Billy Collins, bluegrass singer Sarah Jarosz, Minneapolis storyteller Tristan Jimerson, and, keeping things steady, the Royal Academy of Radio Actors (Tim Russell, Sue Scott, and Fred Newman), and our musical director and pianist Rich Dworsky.

This week, a last-minute fall repeat, from September 2013 at the Fitzgerald Theater in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Väsen play their "Polska for Tom Morrow," Chris Thile performs a few Bach violin pieces translated for the mandolin, and Chic Gamine sing "All Night." In Lake Wobegon, a bear visits the town, starting a debate over who will pay to have it removed.
